Got Me B-LUSH-ing

I was watching Juniel's Sweetem episode with InsiteTV the other day and saw her recommending the Sympathy for the Skin lotion from Lush. And I knew I had to get it. I mean, come on, who doesn't want to smell like this talented and beautiful girl? I know I do... Besides, this was said to be the "Juniel scent" and being the little curious girl I am, I took home a jar (or is tub? bottle?) with me.

This lotion is just awesomeness in a bottle. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and moisturized. Though it does leave a bit of a shiny layer on my skin, it does not feel sticky or heavy at all. And seriously, it smells like bananas and cream. But better. It's a bit difficult to explain, so if you ever get a chance hop on into a Lush store and give this baby a try.

The Formulae Known As lotion is actually a little gift for my friend. (I miss you lots Justina!! Hope you like this little gift from me!) Now the description says, "A creamy, chocolatey lotion with organic cocoa butter and floral essential oils for soft, smooth skin." And from what I tried in the store, this sure is true! It smells absolutely like chocolate when you first put it on, but after a while that fades off into a soft but feminine floral scent. Just lovely! 

There's just so many cool products to try out at Lush... Next time, I'm going to give the Big shampoo a try. A lot of people have been raving about it, so it's time to see what's so good about it. Anyone got any suggestions for moi?

Downtown Sacramento | Bizarre Discoveries

Spring breaks typically mean staying at home - at least for me. But fortunately this year, I was able to take a little road trip up to Sacramento, CA with a bunch of my classmates. Once our business was done there, we all set off to Old Town Sacramento, a beautiful place that seriously reminds me of the Wild West. Other than finding some mannequins with unicorn heads, amazing costumes, and crazy themed shops, I have to say nothing could beat those fish and chips. First time trying them and, woah... I would have them again. Don't know why, but food always seems to be the best part of any trip for me. Mmm... who doesn't like good food?

Obsessed With K-Beauty

I've been obsessed with Korean beauty products for the longest time ever and I don't think it'll die down anytime soon. Since their products tend to be more targeted toward the Asian market, I find that their makeup and skincare products tend to fit my skin better  than other Western brands.

I've mentioned cushions before, and I won't fail to mention them again. When I talked about them in my Winter Pouch post, I was using the Innisfree Ampoule Intense Cushion, which was perfect for the dry cold winters. But now that summer is coming up, it just felt better to stick with a matte cushion that has a nice oil control formula. I would say it has more of a light to medium coverage, but this is completely normal for cushions so no biggie really.


Being a lip junkie, it's hard not to pick up a couple of new lip products for the spring and summer. This time, I've managed to drop my coral/peach to bring home two vibrant lipsticks - Laneige's Intense Serum Lipstick in  and Innisfree's Color Glow Lipstick in  . Both are extremely moisturizing; I haven't experienced any drying or chapping as of yet. The colors have quite a nice lasting ability and do in fact leave a really beautiful tint  on the lips even after eating (though not as vibrant).


I've really been itching to get my hands on a nice black gel eyeliner and an uber natural pink eyeshadow. And I've found them. The eyeliner, is really pigmented and a little really goes a long long way. The tube is really big considering how much I tend to use each makeup session. It'll probably last me two years or something... As for the eyeshadow, I have to be honest, it wasn't as pigmented as I hoped it would be. However, it does become a bit more pink when used wet. Regardless of its pigmentation, the pink brightens up the eye quite a bit, the shimmers especially make the eye look extra girly and twinkly.


As for the final products, I picked up some face mist, which were on a 1+1 sale at Aritaum, and a blusher brush. Oh gosh.... I can't even begin to describe how soft this brush is. Every time I touch it, I feel like I'm stroking my lovely teddy bear. If I could get several hundred thousand more and assemble them into a little ball, I could hug that thing all day.... Okay weird thoughts.

But back on track. By now you've probably noticed that practically all my recent purchases are from Innisfree. And that says something about me: yes I'm a devout lover of the brand and find the quality in their products as well as their packaging attractive points. Don't mind me; I like love Innisfree. Go go K-beauty!

Sacramento | First Sights

As I arrived into the the state capital for the first time... I noticed one thing - there were so many trees. It brought me back a bit to Boston several years back. The scenery in Massachusetts was just stunning; the nature there is no joke. But of course, every city has its own beauty. Here in Sacramento, it felt more like downtown LA mixed with bits of Boston. Essentially it all came down to this. Lovely place #1 + Lovely place #2 = Awesome place. Looking through the bus window, I just wanted to jump down and start dancing on the streets while singing one of my favorites, "Midnight Sun" by Hotshot (I've made a little mixtape with my recent favorite songs. Don't forget to take a look at that!). I miss Sacramento already. And tell me, don't the food look mouthwatering? (Careful not to drool too much)

A Blogger's Worst Enemy

Everyone has probably had this said to them a million times: Numbers can't define who you are. And it's true. But this is way easier said than done. In today's world, a lot of people tend to define success by the number of followers you have or the number of likes... but seriously, having a lot of likes or followers doesn't necessarily mean you're successful. Of course it all comes down to what you define as success.

In terms of being a blogger, I'd like to say my greatest goal and what I see as success is to be able to engage with my readers and develop a true readership. Not just a bunch of ghost followers. I want people to feel connected to me and see me as someone they'd enjoy chatting with. 

 When the blogging market is so saturated with bloggers that have thousands and thousands of followers, it's hard to not compare. And I've caught myself multiple times checking my followers and comparing myself and my blog side by side with other bloggers that have been around for over 5 years. What's with that? Where does that logic come from? I don't know. I seriously don't. 

And I've realized one thing I got out of this - an obsession with followers that literally sucked out my enjoyment for blogging. But I'm not going to let that get any further. That's why I wrote down my goals for my blog, why I'm here in this community, and how I define success. Simply by sticking this onto the wall in front of my workspace has constantly kept me inspired to continue to pour love into my blog. Enough love to show that I'm here to share, inspire, and connect. Not to gain a bunch of followers.
