Eating All Healthy

12.07.2014

This past Thanksgiving break, I had the chance to stay home and make my own breakfast. Before, I'd have fruits and yogurt for breakfast, but for convenience I've been eating oatmeal every morning instead. However, now that mommy has just bought a nice large tub of Greek yogurt, it was nice to finally be able to fill my mouth with the sweetness of none other than fruits+yogurt.

I remember when I started to eat Greek yogurt, it was disgustingly sour so I mixed it with honey-granola and fruits. However, now I've finally come to appreciate the fresh crisp taste of this breakfast.

How do you guys eat your yogurt?

Beanie Season

12.06.2014

Yes, so with December here I can safely say that it's beanie season!! You might remember this picture from a recent Instagram post of mine. That was actually my very first time wearing the apple beanie, though I actually bought it last year at Walmart when the season was almost over. Hehe, this beanie is so cute! with the little sprout at the top, button eyes, ear flaps.... I seriously need to wear this more.

I've never been much of a beanie girl. Before, I'd see people rocking their beanies and think to myself: I'd like to rock one too! But how? Now. I got this down. Rocking any beanies this winter? Which one is your favorite?

10 Things That've Made Me Happy This Week!

12.05.2014
throwback to my trip in Taiwan
This week was officially the first week back to school, and can I say it was pretty tough? You know the groggy, I-don't-want-to-work feeling? Yeah, that dominated me for a good chunk of the week. But! This girl is on the roll again. Like always, I shall share with you 10 things that have made me happy this week. Go, go!

  1. There was a lockdown yesterday during lunch(supposedly someone brought a toy weapon to school...). And because of that, I got 45 minutes extra of lunchtime. Yes, that is just pure awesomeness.
  2. Finally being able to distinguish between Kwangmin and Youngmin from Boyfriend. I need to thank Cindy for her special tip. I thought I'd never be able to tell the twins apart.
  3. Eating rice for a week. Close friends of mine know that I've been avoiding eating rice as much as possible, simply because I need to shed several pounds. After the break, I felt that I need a "diet" break. And so rice, you taste so yummy!
  4. Practically acing the Accounting test-off. I've been studying my bootie off during break and, girl, I literally finished that test in 10 minutes. I just stalled around a little to avoid any awkward stares.
  5. Returning to WahlieTV. For some unknown reason, I haven't been watching their vlogs for months... But then this week, I returned to the crew at last. Feels good to be watching their vlogs again.
  6. Christmas is almost here!! I can't wait. I can't wait. (Psst... yeah, you're right there. That thought was practically tattooed to my brain this past week.)
  7. It was pouring in LA. Though I'm not much of a fan of rain, the gloomy weather really brought up my mood. Kindda wierd, huh? I guess, it's just good to know that the drought has somewhat improved a bit.
  8. Discovered a really nice blog I've been enjoying lately. Do check her blog out... hehe. It's called Pretty Loved, by the way!
  9. Nothing beats fuzzy socks. They make my feet so warm... Oooh I like.
  10. Full body collided a classmate of mine. I was talking to one of my friends during PE and didn't notice that the girl in front of me stopped in her tracks... so I continued walking. Since she was about my height... yup full body contact. Embarrassing moment, but it still gives me the giggles.
So how was your week? Care to share any happy moments?

10 Facts About Me

12.04.2014
Displaying MYXJ_20141129093140_fast.jpg

Today, I think it seems quite appropriate to do a little get-to-know me tag. It's been a little over 5 months since I officially started blogging, so I'd like to let my dear readers to know more about myself.

  1. I really want a little sister... though that's very quite impossible right now. But being an only child, it gets a bit lonely. Good thing, I have Pudding. I wuv you, Pudding!!
  2. I'm typically a pretty organized person. But girl, I can get really lazy and be so messy... I don't even know why.
  3. Ever since I've been addicted to K-pop, I've gradually gained a really high interest in Korean beauty and skincare. So if you want to know more about things like that, I'll be glad to chat with you anytime. I can seriously go on and on for hours. Seriously.
  4. If someone asked me to choose only one snack of all those out there I most likely choose gummies. Gummy bears, gummy worms, sour gummy worms, fruit snacks... Oh! So de-li-ci-ous! Yes, probably even more so than chocolate.
  5. I'm currently trying to learn the Korean language. Since I don't formally take any classes or know anyone close enough to be my personal tutor, I actively listen to the TTMIK podcasts on soundcloud.
  6. My goal one day is to collect all of the Korean B1A4 and VIXX albums and posters. Then hang the posters up all over my room. I've got to show my spirit!
  7. Since I'm on the topic of K-pop, I have to admit that I've thought about auditioning... but nah. What are the chances? Besides, I'm not the extremely musically talented type so I'm just going to stick with business and blogging.
  8. If anyone ever dared torture or even attempt to throw away Ashley, I'm going to cry buckets. AND not forgive that person. Never. Ever.
  9. Funny how I said never in #8. I'm the type of person who can't really hold grudges. Typically, I'd stay angry for a day and then not talk to person I got angry at the next several days, not because I'm still angry but because I don't know what to say to her/him.
  10. And last but not least, I really hope to continue blogging for a long time. Maybe until I get married? Until I have children? Not sure, but theconbonz is going to be here for a while. So if you haven't already, please subscribe or follow! I don't think you'd want to miss out.
Thank you for joining me on this little 10 Facts About Me tag. Now it's your turn! What's your 10 facts?

TT: It Will Be Fine

12.02.2014
炎亞綸 Aaron Yan Cut

So if you guys don't know already, I'm a huge fan of Aaron Yan 炎亞綸. This past summer, my family and I took a visit to Taiwan and, girl, you know what that means, right? Yes it means I go to the CD store to get his newest album, Drama. But shortly after the release of Drama, Aaron released the second part to his album series - Cut.

According to Aaron, the albums are supposed to represent him on camera and him once the director says, "Cut!" However, I was not able to purchase the second part... But! I did listen to the whole album on QQ and fell in love with several of the songs in the album. 好想對他說 is one of them. If you remember last week's Tuesday Tunes post, I did in fact include this song in my November Ballad-ish Playlist. And today, I shall officially introduce you to this song.

In short, this song is mainly a motivational song. Aaron is singing/reminding his audience that he, as well as a lot of other people, has been deeply hurt before; however, he is still courageously and strongly pushing forward. In addition to this mini message, the melody is a really body-swaying one. I'm not too sure about other people, but whenever I hear a song like this, I tend to sway myself right-left-right-left. Kind of like a seaweed... Okay. No...Off-topic.

Just listen to this song, and tell me how you feel about it. Feel the same way I do?

The Christmas Tag

12.01.2014
Picture from disneytouristblog
Becky from Milkbubbletea has created this tag (read what she wrote on it!) and invited her readers (I'm proudly one of them) to also join in on the tag. So let's get started shall we?

1. What is your favorite Christmas Movie/s?
I'd have to say "The Grinch who Stole Christmas." I loved that movie! Just my childhood memories all buried beneath... I've watched it so many times and it just never gets old. The Grinch... ah, he's so cute!
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
For the past several years, I've opened my presents a couple days before Christmas because my cousins come down to LA and we and a bunch of other friends go on a road trip to Vegas. Because of that, we tend to miss Christmas at home... But this year, hopefully I'll be able to open my presents Christmas morning in my Christmas pjs!
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
When I was little, I'd hang stockings next to the window (we didn't have a fireplace) so that Santa could somehow come into our house, through I don't even know through what, and place a gift down for me. I'd even write him a letter with everything I wanted that year... But the thing is, I knew who Santa was. No, it wasn't just one person. It was two. One male. One female. Hm... I wonder who that may be?
4. Favourite festive food?
Definitely the Christmas cookies! Sugar cookies with all that green, red, and white icing. Then of course hot chocolate topped with some cinnamon and marshmallows... To be honest, I haven't tried gingerbread cookies before. At least, not a legit regular-sized, beautifully decorated one.
5. Favourite Christmas gift ?
I'm a spoiled kid. I'll admit it... So I've really received so many presents that I can't really chose one from the stack (sounds cliche, I know. But seriously.) But one gift that really touched me was my Nintendo DS Lite. (I'm not entirely sure if it was Christmas, but...) We couldn't find anymore pink ones in LA so we decided to visit my great aunt in Arizona and try to pick one up during our stay there. I still remember that great ol' papa of mine running out of Best Buys all sweaty holding a box. Yes, my Nintendo. Love you, Dada! Oh and can't forget you either, Mom! Love you, Mom!
6. Favourite Christmas scent?
I really like the scent of cookies and hot chocolate... they just bring back so many warm memories.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Nope... not really. Lately, it's just been stay up late in Vegas and wake up the next morning thinking, "Oh, it's Christmas."
8. What tops your tree?
Oh! Always a star! Either one that's lit up with bright, flashing lights, or a really sparkly golden star.
9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
Nope. Not that I remember, really. As a kid all I really wanted was that new Barbie or that new Tamagotchi... I was a really lucky kid. My parents tried to give me what they could.
10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Winter break! Definitely! Yes, though the teachers still gives us a deluge of assignments to work on over the break, I still enjoy my precious winter break. Just think about it. Sleeping in, watching dramas, baking cookies, going on the internet, procrastinating... wait! No, guys please don't procrastinate. Bad very bad!! But best of all, spending time with my family. This year, there'll be someone new joining us for Christmas, Pudding! Can't wait.... So many memories will be made.

Now, I'd like to tag you! Come on and join in on the Christmas fun!
