Happy Happy this January

So January is officially over tomorrow!! Man does time pass by fast. It was only yesterday when I was talking to a friend thinking it's still December 2014... Yes, I'm a bit slow with adjusting during the first month. Nonetheless, it was definitely a very enjoyable and fun month to kick off 2015.

1) Remember my resolution to get abs this year? I think I'm well on my way towards that goal. Lately I've been running for 30-45 minutes every day after school and have been seeing results. At least with the extra fat I have around my waist.

2) I typically like to wear a bit of lip tint or moisturizing lipstick to school just to give myself a pop of color. Earlier this month, a friend of mine complimenting my lip color. (I was wearing this one from Innisfree). Seriously, it just feels so good when someone says you lips look awesome. I'd call it a success.

3) Mommy finally made some homemade soup again after a long time of drinking soup to-go from the local Chinese restaurants. I don't know why but Mommy's soups taste the best!

4) Socal has been in a drought for quite a while now, and it's just really nice to have some rain. I used to really hate the rain because it just always gets in the way of things. Just makes my life that much more inconvenient. But lately, I'm really appreciating it. Didn't notice before how calming and beautiful rain really is.

5) We got a new car!! I'll be getting my license soon, so we went out and did a little car shopping. My dream car would have to be a Mini Cooper, but since it's really for my dad to drive we opted for a Hyundai Sonata. Oh, it's just so pretty.

6) About 2 weeks ago, several friends and I went out for a little movie date to watch Luhan's Back to 20s. It's actually a remake of the Korean movie Miss Granny (which my baby Jinyoung starred in), except with more of a Chinese culture infused into it. Haven't been to the movies in a while so it feels great to go again.

7) While doing some "window shopping" last week, I discovered the Annie's Way gel mask. When we went to HK this past summer, I looked everywhere for it but all my efforts were in vain... I've finally found it. Here in LA. It seriously works wonders on my skin. My skin just looks *bwing bwing* every time I use the mask.

I'm totally looking forward to another happy happy month. Go go February!

Currently Listening To

Though January is barely coming to an end, I have to say I'm already on a roll with discovering new tracks. I seriously am way too excited to share my top 10 songs for this month. These songs were probably seen rocking on repeat... They just seem to always get stuck in my head. Girl's Day Out

On the 16th, several friends and I went on a little movie date. I'm not typically the kind of person that likes to go out on a Friday night, but because of this I feel that I should go out once in a while and just have fun. I mean what else will I do at home other than go online and do homework? After watching Back to 20s (seriously, Luhan was really hawt in there! And all the fangirls? Me included squealed and cried so much.) we had a nice warm soupy dinner together. Came home to some cozy carrot cupcakes that my dear mommy made. It was her first time, but seriously my mom got skills!


These were my nails for the week. Personally I really like the milky white pink base a lot. Really natural and pretty.

The Last Stop

The very last place we stopped by during our trip to Vegas this past Christmas, was the buffet. No, literally the buffet was called the buffet. But I have to say it used to be one of the BEST one on the strip. Maybe it's because it's been a while, but I personally feel like it has lost the sparkle it once had. Nonetheless, I had a really nice dinner with the fam.

Tuesday Tunes: Getting Ready for Bedtime

Music is something that can really turn a poopy day into a nice one. After a long night of homework, I really enjoy turning up the volume while I get ready for bed

Enjoying Tea A Bit Too Much Lately

Around sometime last year, I became an official tea lover. Green tea. Especially green tea. I started drinking tea just for slimming down, but I have to say it has seriously become one of those things I can't really seem to live without. Just this past Christmas, we were having some last minute Christmas shopping and can I say how lucky I was to stumble upon this beautiful cup with such an aesthetically pleasing design? I'm not sure about other people, but drinking out of a pretty cup makes me want to drink more. Haha... anyone else feel me?

The second day we got to Vegas, we took a stroll through the strip. Since we had my grandma with us, we didn't take too long a trip. Nonetheless, we managed to stop by a few of the places that I personally really really really wanted to go to... just for the fun of it. But on the way there, we coincidentally walked into this long walkway that was filled with art galleries/shops. The artwork there was absolutely stunning. If we had the money, the space in our car, and a place to put one of those statues in our house, I think there's a possibility we'd take it home with us. Haha...

TT: I Miss You

Back in October, Girl's Day released came back with their ballad song "I Miss You." This song embodies a melancholy but mellow melody with a strong rap.

As I was watching the MV, I have to admit that I nearly cried. The lyrics were so heartfelt, and they portrayed the feelings after a breakup quite well in my opinion. The quiteness, the zoning out, the snow, the color schemes were really well put together.

Although this song came out 2 months ago and isn't fresh out of the oven, I think it fits really well with this winter-ballad season. Girl's Day has already come out with several hits, including "Something" and "Darling." And "I Miss You" is no exception. Please give their song a listen and support them!

Hello 2015

What's up 2015? While 2014 may be a beautiful year, I'm looking forward to an even more gorgeous 2015. There are lots of things I want to do - be it for my blog or personally. This year I'll be turning 17 *gasp* I'm getting so old mature already. A lot will happen this year; I'll become a senior, I'll be doing my college apps, I'll be meeting so many new people. I really don't know what to expect...

Frankly, it may be the 1st of January but it still feels like 2014. Just watch me, I'm going to go back to school and end up writing 2014 instead of 2015 as I write the date. Don't lie. You've done it before, too. Yes, this year might be unpredictable; however, these are some things I expect to see happen this year.

Finish off with squeak clean grades. One semester of my junior year has passed. I'm a quarter way done. 3 more semesters and I might just get accepted into my dream school. Back in 2014, I've slacked off way too much. I seriously cannot allow myself to do that anymore. People say stuff like "New year, new me." I disagree. To me it should be "New year, better me."

Getting back on the treadmill. Which girl doesn't want a great body? I've always wanted abs, and this is the year. I can already see myself staring at my future abs... They look lovely.

Continue to build my blog. 2014 was the birth year for theconbonz. The first 6 months has been pretty rocky. I've gone through loads of planning, revising, and adjusting, but I don't have a really clear path as to where I'm heading with my blog. I've read from other successful bloggers that it took them a couple of years before they finally found their voice and niche. I don't like not having a clear plan, but I shall work hard to discover more about myself and my blog.

Learn to play the guitar. My childhood dream was once to become a famous singer, but seriously I doubt that would even happen. But after I finished my piano exams, I've finally found the happiness and enjoyment people always say there is in music. Besides, nothing looks cooler than playing the guitar and singing at the same time.

Continue to learn Korean. I know, I know. What's the point in learning Korean anyway? Will I ever use it? Will it ever come in handy? To tell the truth, I don't know. But I want to learn the language. For some reason, I always have this feeling of satisfaction whenever I learn anything new in Korean, even if it's just a simple phrase. It's just... I have a weird feeling of connection and curiosity. I want to learn more about their language and culture. To me it's quite interesting. (Probably that's why I also enjoyed learning Chinese... it's the connection and curiosity.)

Go go! Let's create rainbows and butterflies and show what we've got this 2015.
